European Beech, steamed, 150 mm fixed width

European Beech is a hard, strong and close-grained hardwood. It has a fine, even texture that machines to a smooth, silky finish. Steaming gives the timber a warm, uniform pinkish-tan colour and helps even out tension in the wood. Beech is a favourite for chairs, tables, cabinetry, workbenches, kitchenware, toys and turned pieces, anywhere you want a clean, consistent look with real strength.

Every board in this range is a fixed [width] mm width and priced per board.

The photos show typical stock from the batch. Wood is a natural, living material, so every board is unique in grain, figure and colour. It also moves slightly with moisture and the seasons, so actual dimensions may differ a little from those listed.

Each board is machined on two faces and sawn on the remaining sides, which gives you a clean, flat reference to work from. Beech glues, stains and finishes very well, and it steam-bends beautifully. It’s best suited to indoor use.
